This Privacy Policy explains how Plot Forge, operated by Adam Tiainen ("we", "us", "our"), collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our web-based story development tool.

Account Information
- Email address — collected during sign-up via Google OAuth or magic link authentication
- Display name and profile photo — from Google OAuth (if you sign in with Google)
Usage Data
- Project data — plots, scenes, characters, settings, and screenplay content you create (Pro/Lifetime users, stored in cloud)
- Subscription status — your plan tier and payment status
What We Do NOT Collect
- Passwords (we use passwordless authentication only)
- Payment card details (handled entirely by Lemon Squeezy)
- Browsing history or tracking cookies
- Location data
3. How We Use Your Information
- Authentication: To verify your identity and manage your account
- Cloud Storage: To save and sync your projects across devices (Pro/Lifetime)
- Communication: To send subscription reminders and important service updates
- Service Improvement: To understand usage patterns and improve Plot Forge
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Supabase — Authentication and cloud database (hosted in EU-West)
- Lemon Squeezy — Payment processing (merchant of record)
- Google — OAuth sign-in
- Vercel — Web hosting
Each service has its own privacy policy. We do not sell your data to any third party.
5. Data Storage & Security
- Cloud data is stored in Supabase servers located in EU-West (Ireland)
- All data transmission uses HTTPS encryption
- Row-level security ensures users can only access their own data
- Free tier data is stored locally in your browser and never leaves your device
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your personal data at any time through the app
- Export your data using the built-in export features
- Delete your account and all associated data by contacting us
- Withdraw consent for data processing at any time
For EU users: You have additional rights under GDPR including data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
7. Cookies
Plot Forge uses only essential cookies required for authentication and session management. We do not use tracking cookies, analytics cookies, or advertising cookies.
8. Children's Privacy
Plot Forge is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us for deletion.
9. Data Retention
- Active accounts: Data retained while your account is active
- Deleted accounts: All data permanently deleted within 30 days of account deletion
- Expired subscriptions: Cloud data retained for 90 days after expiration, then deleted
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
